Devil’s Thumb Ranch

The Devil’s Thumb Ranch is located just north of Winter Park in beautiful Tabernash, Colorado. With almost 120 kilometers of trails in the Ranch Creek Valley on the Continental Divide, Devil’s Thumb is a hot-spot for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

If you need instruction, you can start the day with a private or group lesson. If all you need is a quick refresher, head out to their advanced technique clinics. Don’t have your own gear? No problem! The ranch offers quality cross country ski equipment for purchase or rental – including child sleds and skijoring rigs.

Breckenridge Nordic Center

Breckenridge Nordic Center is a must for all cross-country enthusiasts. You will find great, fresh groomed snow all around the center. You can even partake in a guided adventure or Nordic ski lesson if you need a bit of instruction to get you going!

Tennessee Pass Nordic Center

Head to the charming town of Leadville, Colorado to hit the Tennessee Pass Nordic Trail. With over 27 kilometers of set track and wide skate lanes on a groomed trail system, the Tennessee Pass Nordic Center offers terrain for every style and ability. Take in the stunning views of the Sawatch Mountains as you make your way across the trail!

Crested Butte Nordic Center

Head to Crested Butte for more than 50 kilometers of nordic trails that wind through the outskirts of the town and into the backcounty. The trails feature flats, rolling terrain and hills that provide a challenge and adventure for all skill levels. Make sure to reserve a spot at the Magic Meadows Yurt for a gourmet backcountry dinner and make a day of it!

Keystone Nordic Center

For the all-inclusive Nordic experience, head to the Keystone Nordic Center. There you can get gear rentals and take a lesson or guided tour in in snowshoeing, skate skiing, cross-country skiing on the trails amassing 16 kilometers and access to 27 more kilometers nearby in the White River National Forest.

Vail Nordic Center

The Vail Nordic Center is home to 17 kilometers of cross-country and skate skiing, as well as 10 kilometers of showshoeing trails. Rentals and lessons are also available at this Nordic center located in the heart of Vail. The trails are great for skiers from beginner to advanced, and the center even offers video analysis to improve technique.

Aspen/Snowmass Nordic Trail System

The Aspen / Snowmass Nordic Trail System boasts 80 kilometers of groomed trails, making it one of the largest free cross-country skiing and snowshoeing networks in North America. Travel between the  system’s hubs in Aspen and Snowmass, and pass through wooded areas, hilly golf courses and peaceful valleys along the way.
