r43_photo0_lg All good things must come to an end, but do they really? If this statement is in fact true, then today and the near future is not that end for the rafting season on the Colorado River. As rafting season is winding  down you may have noticed that the rafting/kayaking options in Colorado have dramatically decreased in past weeks. But what happens when you just aren’t ready to put your paddle away and say goodbye to  your river days for the 2014 season? Lucky for you, you don’t have to make that decision right now! We are happy to inform you that the Colorado River is still alive and running and will be for at least awhile  longer! So don’t put away your river gear yet, you still have time to have more river fun!

It’s been a great season for the Colorado River and it just keeps coming! Due to the increase of snow and rain in 2013/2014 we have seen a season of huge whitewater and crazy flows, making this year one of the rafts best in Colorado rafting history! The Upper Colorado most popular for kayaking and fishing is running at around 1220 cfs while some other sections farther down are in the 2000s! Keep in mind that even though rafting season isn’t over the hot summer weather is. It won’t get too cold for at least a couple more weeks, but make sure you are prepared and bring extra layers with you. Increased rain and possible snow are also likely so make sure you are prepared for whatever weather comes your way! Morning rafting is still the safest way to avoid the rain and bad weather!

We hope you enjoy the remainder of rafting season! Raft on!
