Whether you are looking for a secluded campsite away from your busy life or a simple spot with great views, Colorado is your summer camping destination. With all the outdoor activities such as hiking, rafting, fishing, and ziplining in these spots, there truly is something for everyone.
Mount Princeton Campground
Located in Buena Vista, this campground is perfect for those who can’t decide on just one activity. You are only a short drive away from the Mt. Princeton hot springs, rafting in Brown’s Canyon, fly fishing, horseback riding, and more! The campground sits right along Chalk Creek and has multiple waterfalls just a short walk away.
Arapaho Springs Campground – West Chicago Creek
Part of a natural forest, this campground is hidden in nature yet only a short drive from Idaho Springs. This location makes it easy to hike Mt. Evans and raft class V rapids in the same trip! A single campsite can hold up to five people and pets are always welcome. River and stream fishing is also available in the area.
This camping area is right on the Wolford Reservoir, located seven miles from Kremmling. Along with sites for tents, the campground offers cabins with kitchenettes, different options for beds, bathrooms, TV, and more. The ten minute drive to the Colorado River makes it ideal for renting rafts, duckies, or stand up paddle boards!
Renting a raft and dry bags for your gear is the easiest way to create your own, unique camping experience. You can sit out underneath the Rocky Mountain stars at the campfire without worrying about others around you. Share the experience with your friends and family and get the “true” Colorado rafting experience.
