How to Choose Between a Duckie and a S.U.P Board

Our little guide below will serve as helpful nudge to show you know how to choose between a ducky and a S.U.P board.

S.U.Ping through class II rapids may seem like a breeze, but it is far from that. When you hit some of the class I-II white water that awaits, it is more than likely that you will end up in the water. If this is something that excites you because you consider yourself part fish, SUPing may be the perfect water trip for you. If this frightens or instills a bit of uncertainty within, then a duckie rental will be right up your alley.

When SUPing, you are mostly on your feet and spend some time on your knees; contrastly, when kayaking, most of your time is spent upon your bum. Keep this in mind when choosing between these rental options. If you are up for the strength and endurance it requires to S.U.P on whitewater, then get ready to SUP your way downstream, but if you are more of a sit down and paddle your heart out kind of person, then we recommend going with the duckie trip!

When kayking, you will have a paddle with two blades, as opposed to a longer single blade paddle when SUPing . It does not matter what your experience is or what your familiarity with the equipment may be, as your individual preference is of primary concern. Both are incredibly fun and adventurous, in their own right, and can serve as a tremendous arm workout!
