Colorado’s Best Live Music Venues
The music scene in Colorado is fresh and updated with some of the best venues for a range of ages. Red Rocks is hands down the most amazing venue in the country, but maybe I am biased. The Ogden located in Denver is a unique venue with big names still playing. Located in Boulder, Colorado right off Pearl Street is the Boulder Theater with very unique live events happening year round!
Red Rocks Amphitheater is located in Morrison, Colorado. It is found in an open-air amphitheater placed at the base of the Front Range in between the red rock structure seating 9,525 people. Some notable performers are The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and The Grateful Dead. U2 performed on June 5, 1983 while they filmed for their concert film “U2 Live at Red Rocks: Under a Blood Red Sky”.
The Ogden, formerly a movie theater, is located in the Capitol Hill district of Denver and can hold 1,600 concert goers. It was built in 1917 and originally hosted live performances, most notably Harry Houdini. Ownership changed multiple times before it was purchased in 1992 by Doug Kauffman, a live music promoter, whose vision was to turn it into a premiere music venue.
One of the best all-around entertainment venues is located in Boulder, Colorado. The Boulder Theater right off of Pearl Street brings live music of all genres, film, comedy, and private celebrations. The Theater opened in 1906 as Curran Opera House. In 1935, the building was bought by The Fox Theater Company and became The Boulder Theater. The theater also serves as a movie house, still featuring the Boulder International Film Festival, Warren Miller Films and Banff Film Festival.
Be sure to check out these awesome live music venues while visiting or living in Colorado. You will not regret seeing a show and experiencing why everyone loves seeing shows in the beautiful Rocky Mountains!
