How We’re Preparing for Opening Day

Spring and summer activities are just around the corner! Who loves the sunshine and playing in water? I know I sure do. Here at Colorado River Rentals, we just can’t wait for it. In preparation for the warm weather ahead we have been making all the preparation we possibly can to go from wild to wet and wild! We are…

Cleaning up our outpostskremmling top

We are straightening the place up, dusting off our gear, stocking the shelves, and making sure the grass looks nice and green. And, most importantly, cleaning up the way to our river entrance!

Checking the weather

Mother Nature is unpredictable, of course, but we can still get a general feel for how the weather will be in advance. We are looking at the farmer’s almanac for the year to make sure we are prepared for whatever comes our way.

Brushing up on our rafting skills

For some of our guides it’s been awhile since have guided a boat. So, for the few weeks prior to opening our doors, our raft guides will be practicing their rafting skills during the cold part of the season so that we will be ready for our guests during the spring and summer!

Putting ourselves on the market

We just have to make sure you all know how awesome we are, so be on the lookout for us.

raft guidesFinding some new guides!

The more popular we become, the more employees we will need. They will be trained very thoroughly before they hit the river with any passengers. They basically live on the river for about 8 hours a day until they are good enough to direct a group raft by themselves!

New Gear in!

This is perhaps the (second?) most important thing after trained raft guides. We will be thoroughly inspecting all of our gear to make sure it is properly functional and looking shiny like it’s new! We don’t use cracked paddles or rafts with patches on them. We got the cream of the crop river gear!

Colorado River Rentals looks forward to seeing everybody this season. We want to show everybody the rippin and roaring side of mother nature in the white waters of Colorado, so mark your calendar for opening day on May 13th!
