Where and How to Rent Inflatable Kayaks in Summit County, Colorado

Summer is over and the highwater from late spring has subsided and now there is only the calm and mild that is left. Calm and mild are never a bad thing; when it comes to rafting, there are plenty of activities that can still be done on the river, like SUP and the inflatable kayaks. It’s a great way to wind down for the season and get those last few warm sunny days on the river and, of course, take in nature and the changing of the leaves while float down the upper Colorado River.

Those who have kayaked before and are looking to go out on their own can rent either a one person or a two-person inflatable kayak, also known as a “duckie”, and head on out on the upper Colorado River and explore for yourself. You can also rent a SUP and do the same great trip all while getting a great workout in for a few hours.

If this is your first time ever trying an inflatable kayak, you can rent one from our Kremmling shop, roll it up and take on over to Green Mountain Reservoir or Lake Dillon and get some practice in before taking on the Class II of the Upper Colorado.

While kayaking may not be your thing, there are other rental options to get you on the water this fall. You can rent a raft for 1/2 day or longer and do an unguided trip with some friends and have an awesome mellow day going do the river, maybe do some fishing or hit up radium hot springs along the river. If you plan on doing an overnight trip you can rent everything you need to have a safe and enjoyable trip.

Another option for the inflatable kayaks is going to be going on a guided trip with other folks. On a guided inflatable kayak tour, you’ll join a trip with other kayakers, SUP paddlers and/or rafters down the upper Colorado River. There will be no guide with you in the kayak, but the guide will be with the rafting tour and he can give you a few techniques and hints on what to avoid when obstacles come up.

All rentals from Colorado River Rentals include a PFD and paddle. You can also have your gear dropped off to you if you are rafting the upper Colorado River, and picked up for an additional fee. If you cannot be there at the pick-up time, do not fret; just leave the gear and some will pick it up for you.

With two great options to get your float on, why not get out there and have some fun! With only a few more weeks to raft, kayak, or a float fishing trip. So, head on down to Kremmling, CO for a great day of fun. Check out our gear rentals or give us a call at (970) 423-7036.
