The Best Rafting for Fall

The Best Rafting for Fall

Fall in the Rocky Mountains is a truly magical time. The leaves begin to change, temperatures begin to drop and the crisp and cool air starts to smell of winter. If you are like most other outdoor enthusiasts who visit or live here in mountains then it’s likely you will want to squeeze as many outdoor activities in before the snow flies. Luckily here at Colorado River Rentals we offer many different activities well into September. Even though water levels drop and the rafting season for most rivers come to an end, we still raft the Upper Colorado River as well as the Arkansas River for as long as the water flows allow.

IMG_17 (4)The Upper Colorado River offers mellow terrain for all ages. It is an awesome trip for families or first time rafters looking for an experience that really captures what Colorado is all about. Float between the walls of “Little Gore Canyon” where wildlife and scenery abound. If you are looking for something a little more exciting, we also offer inflatable kayak trips that allow you to command your own vessel and explore the river. We also offer stand up paddle board trips. Similar to the inflatable kayaks, you are in charge of paddling and navigating your own board while floating with the group in the rafts. Not to worry, there is no experience necessary for any of these options on the Upper C. With a bit of guidance it’s easy to learn to paddle through several riffles, wave trains, and small rapids.

The Arkansas River offers a little bit more challenging entry level trips as well. Browns Canyon offers excellent rafting for all ages and experience levels. Our one half day or full day trips consist of pulsing Class III rapids which are sure to keep everyone entertained. While traveling through a majestic granite canyon with high walls and beautiful scenery you’ll be away from busty civilization as no road runs through Brown’s Canyon. Unplug and relax with family and friends!
