Upcoming Swiftwater Rescue Classes in Colorado
Just like you wouldn’t think about going into the backcountry without proper knowledge and safety training, you would not get into a raft or kayak without proper training. Swiftwater Rescue classes are a great way to gain in-depth knowledge about whitewater and safety.
Swiftwater Rescue classes are specific to whitewater river conditions. With the added pressure of fast moving water and whitewater features, swiftwater rescue involves the use of specially trained personnel, ropes and mechanical systems. These systems are much more robust than just standard rope rescue. The main objective of the course is know how to deflect the water’s power to rescue a person in the most effective way.
