3 Great Resources for Private Boaters

If you’re looking to get out on the river and take advantage of the great late season water conditions, then we’ll take care of you! We believe that independent boaters need the proper tools and knowledge at their disposal, in order to enjoy a great day out on the river. Although, our rental outpost is closed for the season, we remain committed to the further development of this community of private boaters. Below are 3 great resources for private boaters that will provide abundant information for anyone embarking on a river trip, anywhere in Colorado.

These are two of the best resources, for not only private boaters, but for larger companies as well. Lost gear, water levels, local conditions, trip info, put-ins and take-outs and so much more, can all be found on Mountainbuzz.com. The majority of those who frequent mountain buzz are from Colorado and Idaho. Boatertalk, however, is more known for their great trip information, maps, forums, water gauges and gear swaps. Those on the East Coast are the primary users of boatertalk.

If what’s new in the world of river conservation is of interest to you, americanwhitewater is going to be the go-to for up to date information. Their main mission is “To conserve and restore America’s whitewater resources and to enhance opportunities to enjoy them safely.” How cool is that?! This is also a great website for first time boaters who are looking for information on the basics of rafting, including gear needed, proper paddling techniques and proper boater safety precautions.
