5 Great Hikes near Kremmling, CO

Hiking is one of our favorite Colorado activities. This is because you can find a beautiful hike just about anywhere in the state, there generally is no cost associated with hiking, and it’s a perfect way to way to explore our amazing state’s landscape. Kremmling, Colorado located just 100 miles west of Denver is one of our favorite hiking destinations partially because of its close vicinity to the Upper Colorado River.

Here are 5 great hikes near Kremmling, CO.

gore trail a1. The Gore Canyon Trail – At three miles round trip this trail winds along the side of the mighty Upper Colorado River. Bring your fly rob along and you might just catch a brown or rainbow trout on hike.

2. The Yarmony Trail – Another great trial to bring your fly rod along on, The Yarmony Trail was originally constructed as both a hiking and a horseback trail. At 1.2 miles each way this is a shorter hike that is a great option for all.

3. Fraser River Access Trail – One of the shortest hikes on our list the Fraser River Access Trail is .55 miles each way. This trails runs along the Fraser River, and is one of the only public entrances to the riverside since much of the land surrounding the Fraser is private.

wolford trail4. Wolford Mountain Trail – This trail takes you 2.3 miles over Wolford Mountain and back. Start down low in fields of sage brush before gaining elevation and become engulfed in tail Aspen trees.

5. North Sand Hills Hiking – Spend sometimes playing on the sand dunes along with the 20,000 other visitors that visit this location yearly. There are a wide variety of hiking and horseback trails crisscrossing the dunes and done forget to cool off in Government Creek.
